About Amanda-CD(DONA), SBD-Birth and bereavement doula

Amanda is a dual Certified Birth and Bereavement Doula through DONA and StillBirthday. She was born into a military family and has since lived in various states across the United States, before eventually settling back down in Colorado in 2006. Here, she has dedicated herself to raising her three children with her husband out in the Eastern Plains. She enjoys being outdoors, music, plants, reading and being creative.

Following a career in pediatrics, Amanda felt a deep-seated calling to the birthworker field. She pursued this passion by obtaining her certification as a labor and birth doula through DONA and completed a second training to become a Certified Birth and Bereavement Doula through StillBirthday. Since her doula training, she has continued her education by taking workshops to learn hands on techniques to help the modern day body in the process of birth.

Amanda is also a certified yoga teacher, trained through Authentic Movements and Certified Placenta Preparation Specialist. Along with all of this, she offers birth photography, bereavement/loss support, bereavement photography, breast milk and cremation jewelry, and NICU support. She is also an approved provider through Colorado Medicaid and Tricare.

Amanda's mission is to educate and support expecting parents during one of the most significant and vulnerable events of their lives. She firmly believes in the uniqueness of every person, baby and birth, and is committed to treating each one as such. Amanda views the birth space as sacred and brings deep compassion, trust and empowerment to each birthing space.

With an unwavering dream of a future where a doula is an integral part of each and every birth team, Amanda is dedicated to ensuring the arrival of every baby is approached with mindfulness and respect.
